Best College Football Bets This Weekend
What a difference a year makes with the LSU football program. Last year they were mauling through the SEC in impressive fashion en route to a national championship. This year, they have had multiple players opt out, various number of guys enter the transfer portal, and now have placed a self-imposing bowl ban for this year.
On the flip side, Kyle Trask and the Florida Gators continue to roll and have their eyes on the SEC Championship and even the College Football Playoff. Heisman hopeful Kyle Trask leads the nation’s best passing offense to the tune of 377 passing yards per game. He is going to have a field day in Gainesville as they are going up against an LSU passing defense that ranks third-worst in all of college football, allowing over 300 yards per game. With Florida rolling and all the tension surrounding the Tiger football team, expect the Gators to put up big numbers and have no problem covering.
Best Bets: Gators -23.5
Best College Football Bets This Week
#17 North Carolina Tar Heels at #10 Miami Hurricanes
Odds: Hurricanes -2.5, Over/Under 67.5
Since the Clemson loss earlier in the year, the Miami Hurricane football team has reeled off five consecutive wins as they head into Saturday’s matchup with 17th-ranked North Carolina. Senior quarterback, D’Eriq King, has had a solid season with a QBR that currently ranks 18th in all of college football. He will benefit from playing a Tarheel defense that has allowed over 40 points three times already in conference play. North Carolina also has a solid quarterback in Sam Howell, but too many liabilities on defense will lead to a Hurricane victory. In the last eight times these two teams have met, the home team is 7-1 ATS, and this trend will continue as Miami will keep their hot streak alive and win by double digits.
Best Bet: Hurricanes -2.5
#1 Alabama Crimson Tide at Arkansas Razorbacks
Odds: Crimson Tide -31.5, Over/Under 68.5
The 2020 Alabama Crimson Tide have destroyed anything and everything that has come into the path this season. In their past five conference games, their average winning margin is 40 points. On the season, the Crimson Tide are 7-2 ATS and rank near the top in many statistical categories. Junior quarterback Mac Jones has been outstanding, posting a 96.3 QBR, which is the best in the country.
When Jones isn’t slinging it, he just hands it off to Najee Harris, who has already eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark while rushing for 20 touchdowns. Saturday’s showdown with the Razorbacks is like the Florida/LSU matchup as it features an elite offense versus a suspect defense. Arkansas ranks dead last in yards allowed per game with 555 yards allowed in their last three games. It doesn’t get any easier with Alabama coming into town.
Alabama has covered in their last six conference games and they continue to cover this Saturday in Arkansas as their offense will completely overwhelm the Arkansas defense.
